ALL THESE AMENITIES ARE FREE -

ACCESS

There is NO entrance charge. Come and stroll round the Lakes and watch the anglers and the many and varied birds, including our many resident swan, geese and chickens which are popular attractions for adults and children alike to feed and admire.

PARKING

Parking at Roman Lakes has always been free.

TOILETS

Toilets are located at the side of the main building

TRAILS

Follow our nature trail around the Park or our History Trail that takes you along the valley floor. Ask at the cafe for the free leaflets.

PLAY AREA

The play area for children under 8 is very popular, giving adults a well earned break.

PICNIC AREA

There are several picnic tables and benches around the park and many large logs. The large field is great in summer for large picnics and family fun.

DISABLED FACILITIES

We have two designated parking places for the disabled. Angling for the disabled is encouraged and all pitches have easy access.

No areas are hard surfaced but in most conditions much of the park is accessible with care and everywhere is at ground level. Toilets are at ground level and fairly large for wheelchair access.

If you require any help, please just ask, we will do all we can to make your visit as trouble free as possible.

ANGLING

Our well stocked day ticket waters provide good sport for anglers of all ages and abilities. Carp 30lb+ and Pike 20lb+. Also Bream, Roach, Perch and Tench.

Easy access and level pitches together with refreshments on hand make Roman Lakes an excellent place to fish.

BOULE

Probably Stockports first French Boule pitch. Open for all to play.

Only £1 per hour per person

EVENTS

We host a wide range of events during the year and welcome enquiries from organisers. As well as angling events we also have had mountain bike display days, motor bike trials, bird and bat watching groups, artist and photographic groups to name just a few.

FISHING TACKLE

The privately owned tackle shop is well stocked with tackle and fresh / dry bait. Open every day except Monday.

TAKEAWAY CAFE

A range of hot and cold drinks and snacks is available from our Lakeside Cafe. In summer a full range of Walls ice creams is stocked. The cafe is open all day every day.
