to find us. We have expanded this page to help you find Roman Lakes
more easily.
Marple
is only 4 miles west of Stockport and is easily accessible from all
the Greater Manchester area.
By
Car
From
Manchester, Tameside, Lancashire, Merseyside direction -
From
Junction 27, M60 at Stockport follow A626 signposted Marple. On
arriving in Marple go straight on at the first traffic lights (where
the A626 goes left) and up the hill through the middle of Marple
(B6101). At the top of the hill you cross the canal and the road
turns sharp right, but bear left on Oldknow Road and then cross
Arkwright Road onto Faywood Drive. This becomes Lakes Road which
leads to Roman Lakes Leisure Park.
From
Macclesfield direction

Follow
the A523 to Hazel Grove where it joins the A6 and in 400 metres turn
right at traffic lights onto the A627 signposted Marple. At the
junction with the A626 turn right and stay on the A626 climbing
uphill into Marple. At the first traffic lights in Marple go
straight on(where the A626 goes left) and up the hill through the
middle of Marple, Stockport Road. At the top of the hill you cross
the canal and the road turns sharp right, but bear left on Oldknow
Road and then cross Arkwright Road onto Faywood Drive. This becomes
Lakes Road which leads to Roman Lakes Leisure Park.
From
Sheffield -
Take
either the Snake Pass Road (A57) or Longdendale Road (A628) to reach
Glossop. From Dinting Vale, west of Glossop, turn onto the A626
signposted Marple. Stay on this road until pasing through Marple
Bridge and climbing a steep hill crossing the railway at Marple
station. 200 metres after the station turn left onto Arkwright Road
and after 600 metres turn left onto Faywood Drive. This becomes
Lakes Road which leads to Roman Lakes Leisure Park.
From
New Mills direction

Take
the B6101 from the middle of New Mills signposted Marple. Just
before reaching Marple bear right onto Arkwright road (B6102) and
after 400 metres turn right onto Faywood Drive. This becomes Lakes
Road which leads to Roman Lakes Leisure Park.

Train
Marple
is served by 2 railway stations, Rose Hill and Marple both of which
are served from Manchester Piccadilly. Marple is on the main
Sheffield line. Marple station is the nearest to us with a pleasant
1 mile walk. Rose Hill is 1.5 miles.
By
Bus
A
network of buses link Marple to Stockport, New Mills and Glossop.
From the bus stop in Marple we are just a pleasant one mile walk
away.
