The Roman Lakes Story so far....

Deep in the beautiful lower reaches of the Goyt  Valley, nestling on the edge of the Peak District, south of Manchester, lies the picturesque and tranquil Roman Lakes Leisure Park. For almost 100 years these lakes that once supplied water to the long-disappeared Samuel Oldknow's Mellor Mill cotton mill is now the venue for a variety of recreational and sporting activities.

Our excellent location provides a perfect spot to park (for free!) and then explore the local area either by foot or mountain bike.

Publications are available at the Lakeside Cafe to help you find your way around and discover hidden gems of local history and nature.  Whatever your interest you can be sure of a pleasant visit to Roman Lakes Leisure Park.

++++ NEW TEAROOMS ++++

Our new tearooms and takeaway facilities will be opening shortly

See more about our valley at the new community website, improving, protecting and promoting the area
