All
matches to be fished in accordance with the following
Roman
Lakes match rules.
1.
All nets, including landing nets, must be disinfected and rinsed
at the Roman Lakes dipping station, prior to the draw. Match
competitors must use a minimum of two keepnets, one for
silverfish and one for carp.
2.
Each competitor is to fish the same peg number that they draw.
Only one peg number is to be drawn per an angler. Competitors
must not move, exchange or redraw peg numbers. No pegs are to be
drawn once the match is in progress.
3.
All fishing to take place at designated pegs, not between pegs.
4.
Before the starting signal, no competitor should groundbait or
loose feed the swim.
5.
Competitors may use only one rod or pole, with a single line and
hook, at a time. Additional rods or poles may be set up but not
baited. Baited hooks must not be left unattended.
6.
Bait restrictions: no trout paste or pellets. No cat
food. A maximum of 1 kg of carp pellets, and 1 kg of ground
bait, per a match. All feed baits to be used in moderation. Any
surplus bait should be discarded in the litter bins provided.
7.
Tackle restrictions: only manufactured barbless hooks to
be used. No crushed, pinched or nipped barbs. Maximum size 12.
Nylon line only, no braid.
8.
If hooked before the final whistle, a fish may be played for up
to 15 minutes.
9.
At the end of the match, competitors must remain at their peg
until their catch has been weighed.
10.
All fish must be weighed in by fishery staff. If a competitor's
allocated peg is not clear of litter, and discarded line, staff
may refuse to weigh their catch.
11.
Each competitor's fish weights will be recorded in pounds and
ounces, rounded up to the nearest ounce.
12.
Competitors must bait, strike and land their own fish.
13.
Any objections must be brought before the match official before
the final payment takes place.
14.
Match competitors must conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
Competitors that fail to comply to the match rules may be
disqualified and/or banned from future matches, forfeiting their
entry fee.
15.
After the match: competitors are welcome to continue fishing,
with a single rod or pole, at no further charge. Please note the
day permit rules will then apply. Permits for additional
rods/poles can be purchased at the lakeside café .
