NATURE TRAIL

The area around Roman Lakes Leisure Park is a perfect place to discover and study nature. The flora and fauna of the valley is probably the most prodigious and varied that you will find anywhere.

Whether looking at plants, animals or birds the valley has it all in abundance. The many footpaths allow easy access to the varied habitats of meadow, woodland and marsh. The Lakes themselves are a haven for wildfowl as well as the many other birds that are resident in the area.

For those visitors studying Geology or Geography the valley from New Mills to Marple gives easily accessible areas of great interest. The spectacular New Mills gorge and the the Roman Bridge slab rock outcrops are particularly interesting.

Ask at the Lakeside Cafe for our FREE Nature Trail leaflet. Our trail of just a mile in length gives a very pleasant walk within the park.
